"Easy Going" snow chain innovations from RUD

RUD of Germany, inventor of the snow chain and still the world's premier chain manufacturer, have taken snow chain technology a stage further this season with their new 'easy2go' range.

Who uses chains in the UK?
Those living and working in upland areas should at least think about them very seriously; chains will guarantee their onward progress, and make the roads safer for all users. People who drive to continental ski slopes need chains, even if they drive 4 x 4s. If you haven't got chains, the Police won't let you onto the mountain roads, and you'll also be fined if you are caught on mountain roads without them.

Which chains should you choose? It's a matter of balancing availability, features and price. RUD's new easy2go chains are designed for the occasional user who is prepared to pay a little bit extra for optimal comfort as well as optimal safety.

There's a surprising amount of technology in snow chains; not only do they need to work as efficiently as possible, but they must be strong enough to cope with all likely situations, be easy to fit and remove, and be long lasting. Most modern cable chains are quite similar, so what makes easy2go chains so special?

  • 'cross over' links - the chains are slower to make, but much stronger
  • 4mm wedge shaped chrome-manganese alloy steel chain for better grip
  • stationary fitting, i.e. there's no need to move the vehicle forward or backwards to complete the fitting process
  • a patented Permanent Tensioning Device which removes the need to stop and re-tighten the chains
  • integrated wheel rim protection to minimise the potential for scratches on alloy wheels in particular
  • quick release ratchets to speed up removal
  • fabric storage bags - it's much easier to put chains into a fabric bag than a plastic case, and you can also kneel on the bag when fitting the chains

RUD's new easy2go, the smartest and most complete cable chain available:

  • easy fitting
  • continuous re-tensioning thanks to the Permanent Tensioning Device
  • integrated protection for alloy wheels
