This 450 litre box has several innovative features, most obviously the patented dual side opening system, based around an innovative telescopic strut. Lift the lid in the normal way to open the box (it's spring assisted), and then lift again before closing. It's a clever system; it holds the lid wider than normal spring struts, the lid won't sag if the springs get tired, and unlike spring struts there's no possibility of snagging on anything which is loose in the box, e.g. a coat. Other features:

• the reinforcing ribs run front to back, similar to the Thule Atlantis and Atera Odyssey boxes
• low profile box to bar fittings, suitable for bars up to 8cm wide
• the keys are drawn from Farad's locking wheel-nut programme and form part of the smoothest closing central locking system we've seen on any box anywhere - just be sure to keep a note of the number in case you lose both of them!
