The EUROBIKE is a basic but solid steel bike carrier from Fapa's budget 'Rack System' range; it's much better built than similar bike carriers of this type. It fits roof bars to 50mm wide, and downtubes to 50mm. It comes complete with a standard 'Thule style' locking knob to lock the bike to the carrier, and two strong polypropylene wheel straps. 2 year guarantee. It's not suitable for 'T-track' aerobars. Atera's previous GIRO was a worthy winner of the Auto Express "Best Buy Award" on several occasions, so there was inevitably some nervousness when Atera designed its successor. The aluminium GIRO AF is its replacement, new in 2006. It features automatic shoulder high single handed tensioning and locking, leaving one hand to hold the bike in place. Superb!

Atera GIRO AF deals: Take your pick from either Thule or Atera roof bars. You'll be taken to a page where you'll select your vehicle type and then be shown all the bar options that are available. We will always add locks even if you forget to choose these, and will always add roofbox aerobar adapters if you choose alumimium aerobars.

Both Atera and Thule bars are of the same quality, easy to fit, and stylish. The main difference between them is that Atera bars are supplied complete and ready to fit to a particular car, whereas Thule bars are made up from modular components - so it's sometimes possible to take them from vehicle to vehicle without much additional cost. Aluminium aerobars and box adapters for both brands can be supplied, if available, for an extra £20 - any increases in the basic package price are taken care of automatically.

They have a 2 year guarantee and are well made, strong, sturdy, easily fitted, adequately rust proofed, TUV approved, and supplied ready to fit - just place them on the roof and turn the Allen key! All tools and fixings are supplied. Except for the roof rail crossbars they aren't lockable, but many of them can't be removed if the car doors are locked.
