These adapters have a 20mm wide base and slide into the 'T-tracks' in all the aluminium bars we sell (Atera, CRUZ, Thule, Whispbar/Yakima), two on the front bar, two on the rear bar, to give one fixing at each corner of the box. They measure M8 x 48mm long.
In our opinion this is visually a much neater solution than putting U-bolts around aluminium bars - which also almost always scratch the base of the bars. These adapters will be an essential requirement when the U-bolts supplied with KAMEI roof boxes are not wide enough to go round T-track aluminium.
They work with 2012 onwards models of KAMEI roof box with 90mm U-bolt fitting systems. Older models with 50mm U-bolts require the 52003 adapters.
These adapters are suitable for the following 'T-track' bars:
- Atera
- CRUZ
- Thule
- Whispbar
- All Audi, Skoda and Volkswagen
- Mont Blanc
- Mercedes-Benz Alustyle
- Oris Windprofil and Oris Top Star
- Alfa Romeo
- Vauxhall "T-track alloy base carriers"
- Some Renault
They'll also fit most other brands of aerobars, except BMW. You'll need to take some measurements from your bars and check the dimensions on the diagram on the box above; the maximum slot width for the safe use of these adapters is 24mm.
Note that you cannot fit KAMEI boxes with Thule T-track adapters - the threads are too short.
