What it does and why it's so good:

Previously known as SafeStep, Rhino’s AccessStep is a chassis mounted rear step system, designed to make it much easier and safer to step in and out of vans, especially when carrying a load. It will help to protect your back and your knees. It should also protect the bumper and panels from fork lift damage and, depending on the vehicle, may also make it a lot easier to load and unload a roof rack.

Each vehicle has a specific mounting, so AccessSteps are mounted at a standard, optimum height.

The AccessStep is designed to be fitted by one person, using existing mounting points, and without the need for specialist equipment. Clear and concise fitting instructions are included, as are all necessary nuts and bolts.

More about the Connect+ system:

The electronics in modern vans have generally made it increasingly difficult for even trained auto-electricians to make correct changes to vehicle wiring systems. Our experience is that it's easier to wire in reversing sensors for the first time than to add an additional set of reversing sensors. So, if your vehicle already has sensors in the rear bumper, it has to make sense to pay the extra for a Connect+ system, because if you use Connect+ then fitting the step and wiring in the sensors is a straightforward DIY job.

The Connect+ is basically an extension cable that includes the correct male / female connectors and all necessary wiring, tried and tested - so all you need to do is to unplug the original sensors, unclip and pop them out of the bumper, move them into the AccessStep, and connect up with the Connect+ cable. Blanking plugs are supplied for the original holes in the bumper.

Other AccessStep features and specifications:

• AccessSteps are built on a steel frame, rust proofed to the ‘1000 hours salt spray standard’ before being topped off with a polyester-based powder coat, with a satin finish.
• The unique anti-slip self-cleaning treads are UV resistant, and include red safety reflective tape.
• TÜV approved.

In summary, AccessSteps make a huge difference and are highly recommended. If you already have rear sensors, this Connect+ version is the way to go.
