The BUZZ RACK Eazzy 3 is a really well designed, well engineered piece of kit; smart, sophisticated and very good value for money.

Basic ergonomics

Easy! The Eazzy 3 is very easy to fold which makes for easy lifting, easy carrying, easy fitting, easy storage in the car boot when you are out for a ride; we didn't invent the Eazzy name, but it's appropriate!

Folds to store in the car This is really useful, because damage to tow bar carriers in car parks from other vehicles can be an issue. A tow bar carrier will almost certainly make your car much too long for a standard car parking space.

More detail about folding Because the two wheel support trays fold into the bike holder uprights (there are straps to hold them closed) the Eazzy 3 is easy to carry around, easy to fit and remove, and easy to store. The metal parts are steel, not aluminium, and it weighs the best part of 17kg, but because it's a vertical 2-handed lift it feels much lighter than this, and there should be no strain on your back when moving it and fitting it. Most 3 bike wheel support racks are relatively very awkward and hard work to handle compared to the Eazzy 3.

Key features of the Eazzy 3

Assembly: The Eazzy 3 is supplied fully assembled, except for the lights which are attached with only 1 screw each side (which makes these lights particularly easy to replace if damaged), and there's 1 bolt for the number plate holder - all fittings and a tool are supplied.

Fitting to the car: You fit the Eazzy 3 in its folded state, which leaves you with all the space you need to work on the tow ball fitting system. When you first place it on the tow ball it supports itself - you can let go of it and it won't fall to the ground. You'll then take the weight again, spin the tightening wheel until it's tight, and lock it. BUZZ RACK's carriers comply with the very exacting standard XPR-18-904-4 and therefore include an anti-sway tensioner; this has an integrated handle and 2 or 3 turns are usually sufficient. The videos (see tab) show the initial assembly, and also fitting - both are well worth watching.

Lighting system: The Eazzy 3 comes with a 13 pin lighting system, including a reversing light and UK compliant fog lights (the fog light is on the right hand side). A 13 pin to 7 pin adapter is included.

Tilting: Tilting is easy, and is very well balanced even with a full load. The Eazzy 3 sits quite high on the tow ball, and the tilt function is optimised to prevent the lights from hitting the road surface, while still using the weight of the bikes to help bring the bike platform back to the level again in a controlled way. But this geometry doesn't allow for vertical tailgates to be opened - the only tow bar carriers we know about that are suitable for these vehicles, e.g. VW Transporter T5 and T6, and MPVs such as the Vauxhall Zafira and Ford Galaxy, are the Atera STRADA DL3 (maximum 4 bikes) and the Atera Genio Pro (maximum 3 bikes).

Carrying bikes

• The wheel holders will accommodate all wheelbases, even small children's bikes
• The long wheel rubber-padded wheel straps hold tyres up to 3.25” wide; pull on them to tighten, and use the quick release to loosen
• The Eazzy 3 is entirely suitable for carbon frame bikes; the rubber-padded bike frame cradles rotate 360 degrees and, again using rubber-padded straps, they hold any type of tube firmly but gently. Longer frame straps are available.
• The maximum permitted load is 60kg, with no bike weighing more than 20kg
• Electric bikes up to 20kg may be carried, although the Eazzy series is not optimised for e-bikes (see E-Scorpion for e-bikes); whatever bikes you have, always load the heaviest bikes nearest to the car
• There is a built in locking cable to secure your bikes; as usual with cable locks, it's a deterrent only - you need to pay serious money for any cable lock that will withstand bolt cutters and, ideally, also loop it through your vehicle's towing hook.

Other features and basic specifications

• The patented conical fitting fits to all tow balls, even to the bolt-on tow balls we see occasionally that do not meet standards for neck length or ball diameter.
• A reminder that it locks to the tow ball.
• The Eazzy 3 sits high on the tow ball, well clear of speed bumps and other hazards such as steep ferry ramps.
• Dimensions: 112cm wide x 78cm deep (measured from the centre of the tow ball to the outside edge of the number plate holder). 24cm wide when folded.
• Weight: 16.6kg
• The build quality - tube bending, welding, rust proofing, painting, component quality, is exemplary. The whole carrier looks and feels like the class act it is. All tools you might need are provided.
• All parts are replaceable if e.g. someone forgets that a tow bar carrier is fitted and reverses into a wall - which happens!

BUZZ RACK is manufactured by King Rack of Taiwan, a specialist bike sector engineering company since 1996. Their factory is state of the art, with much of their production being tube bending, specialist welding and finishing for well known bicycle and car rack brands.

Express Delivery orders placed before before the cut-off times shown below will usually be desptached on the date of order. Express Delivery orders placed after these cut-off times will be despatched the next working day.

Delivery FAQs

When will my order arrive?
There are no deliveries on Saturdays, Sundays or Bank Holidays, except for postable items where Royal Mail has a Saturday delivery. Express Delivery orders placed on a Friday (before 1pm) should be delivered on the Monday or Tuesday, Express Delivery orders placed on a Saturday or Sunday should be delivered on the Tuesday or Wednesday. The arrangements for Very Heavy Items are different and are shown above.

What about Next Working Day delivery?
We have offered a reliable Next Working Day service for well over 20 years but, due to the pressure on the couriers caused by the coronavirus crisis and the huge increase in online shopping, we can no longer be confident about the delivery date, which is why we now call the service ‘Express delivery’. Most Express delivery orders will arrive on the next or second working day, but some will arrive on the second or third working day, or be split between these days. So-called “split deliveries” happen when the couriers do not have enough trailer space for everything that should be moved around the UK, so they will load what they can and leave the rest for the next trailer.

Is my delivery day guaranteed?
No retailer or courier company can ever "guarantee" a Next Working Day delivery. As well as split deliveries, all courier companies occasionally have the same transport problems as can happen to everyone else, including snow blocked roads, closed roads, traffic jams, mechanical breakdown, an inability to find the delivery address, or to gain access to it if, for example, it's in a block of flats. We work with some of the best couriers in the business, and overall they provide an outstanding service.

Do I need to be at home?
We are very flexible with our deliveries and will aim to deliver to an address which suits you – this does not need to be your home address. Goods can usually be left without signature - we prefer this with roof boxes. There's a "Special Delivery Instructions" box in the checkout area where we'll ask you to choose a typical instruction and then amend it to suit your particular requirements.
