Our Atera PACKAGE DEAL - EVERYTHING YOU NEED!

Buy an Atera roof box, a set of roof bars and locks, and a roof box hoist, all for a fixed price, whatever your vehicle!

Every now and then we aim to give a few customers a particularly good deal by having a ‘bars and box’ package deal at very cheap prices. You take advantage of the bulk purchasing opportunities that occasionally come our way, and we earn extra brownie points for exceptional value. As Atera boxes are only available from time to time, this package deal is NOT available at Indespension stores.

Atera boxes

These are top quality boxes, packed with useful features. They are right side opening, made from 4.5 mm fully UV protected ABS plastic, with central locking, Stabilus gas struts to ensure easy and wide opening of the lid, and a patented quick release box to bar fitting system, including 75 mm wide U bolts to fit almost all modern roof bars. Each box has a five year guarantee.

ATERA is the best of the German rack system brands in our market, best known in the UK for bike carriers - their aluminium roof mounting GIRO carrier was given ‘Best Buy’ award for roof mounting carriers in the last Auto Express product test, for example - but they have a huge range of other load carrying gear. Most of their roof bars and accessories business is with the Original Equipment market, i.e. direct to the car manufacturers, where major customers include Audi, BMW, Daewoo, Chrysler, Fiat, Honda, Mitsubishi, Mercedes, Opel, Subaru, Suzuki, Vauxhall and Volkswagen. Atera’s reputation therefore speaks for itself and, (probably needless to say), their products are TUV certified and quality approved to ISO 9001.

Roof bars

Thule is the world’s largest car rack systems manufacturer. Their roof bars are excellent quality and good value - easy to fit, stylish and, where possible, made up from modular components so it’s usually possible to take them from vehicle to vehicle without much additional cost. You'll also be offered the option of Atera bars, where available - these are supplied fully assembled and ready to fit. (Note: If you change from a car with roof rails to a car without roof rails we always recommend you to sell the bars with the vehicle. The clamps / feet are the expensive bit of a bar system, so you won't want to be left with these.)

We’ll supply whichever bars you require for your vehicle, and include locks. Aerobars and box adapters can be added for only £20 where these are available.

Roof box hoist

Roof boxes are large items and can be awkward to store. The final component of this package deal is therefore a roof box hoist to enable you to store your box in your garage or shed roof space. Many people will leave the box fixed to the bars to save even more time.

If you wish to put a monetary value on these boxes, an analysis of major German web sites shows that Atera boxes are offered at similar prices to their Thule equivalents. But if for any reason you aren't completely impressed, don't forget our 90 day exchange guarantee. (If you don’t like the box you’ve chosen we’ll exchange it, even if it’s been used, picking up the return carriage costs. Our exchange guarantee lasts for 3 calendar months from the date of invoice - "90 days". The bottom line is that we don’t want you to be left with anything you’re not happy with).

Which box to choose?

All the boxes have central locking, Stabilus gas struts to ensure wide and easy opening, and a patented ‘easy fit’ system for extra quick installation onto the roof bars.

Medium length, medium width

Atera 450: (450 litres, 180 x 78 x 41cm, £250 or £290):

This ‘medium length medium width’ box looks good on all vehicles, usually allows space on the roof bars for one bike carrier, and is long enough for snowboards, water skis, body boards, and most carving skis.
