These rails run from front to back and you can push your hand under them.

Filters
Aluminium or steel bars?
Aluminium bars include full length T-track slots for fixing accessories; you can use the whole length of the bar for load carrying. Most aluminium bars are also low noise, low drag.

Steel bars have a shorter load carrying length because the accessories are fixed around the bars, and the roof bar feet get in the way of these fixings.

Fixpoints are on the car roof, usually hidden under flaps or sliding panels. Fitting tip! You need to be careful not to cross thread the roof bar fitting screws. These are always made of softer steel than the Fixpoint threads, so you won't damage the car, but if you apply too much force you can wreck the screw head or even snap it off. This usually happens if the threads are rusty or, in some cases, were not covered before the car was painted.
