The Eazzy 4 includes numerous improvements on BUZZ RACK's previous 4 bike folding carrier, a best-seller; many colleagues here have used the Eazzy 4 for their holidays. Our consensus is that it's overall the best 4 bike tow bar carrier we've seen, not far behind the premium segment Atera STRADA DL3 (which is a 3 bike carrier with a 4th bike option).
Special offer! We have reduced our price from £394.95 to £344.95 until some overstocks are cleared. The Eazzy 4 is great value at £394.95, so at £344.95 we hope it will at least be on your shortlist for a folding and tilting 4 bike carrier!

The BUZZ RACK Eazzy 4 is a really well designed, well engineered piece of kit; smart, sophisticated and very good value for money. Basic ergonomics Easy! The Eazzy 4 is very easy to fold which makes for easy lifting, easy carrying, easy fitting, easy storage in the car boot when you are out for a ride; we didn't invent the Eazzy name, but it's appropriate! Folds to store in the car This is really useful, because damage to tow bar carriers in car parks from other vehicles can be an issue. A tow bar carrier will almost certainly make your car much too long for a standard car parking space. More detail about folding Because the two wheel support trays fold into the bike holder uprights (there are straps to hold them closed) the Eazzy 4 is easy to carry around, easy to fit and remove, and easy to store. The metal parts are steel, not aluminium, and it weighs almost 20kg, but because it's a vertical 2-handed lift it feels much lighter than this, and there should be no strain on your back when moving it and fitting it. Most 4 bike wheel support racks are relatively very awkward and hard work to handle compared to the Eazzy 4. Key features of the Eazzy 4 Assembly: The Eazzy 4 is supplied fully assembled, except for the lights which are attached with only 1 screw each side (which makes these lights particularly easy to replace if damaged), and there's 1 bolt for the number plate holder - all fittings and a tool are supplied. Fitting to the car: You fit the Eazzy 4 in its folded state, which leaves you with all the space you need to work on the tow ball fitting system. When you first place it on the tow ball it supports itself - you can let go of it and it won't fall to the ground. You'll then take the weight again, spin the tightening wheel until it's tight, and lock it. BUZZ RACK's carriers comply with the very exacting standard XPR-18-904-4 and therefore include an anti-sway tensioner; this has an integrated handle and 2 or 3 turns are usually sufficient. The videos (see the 'fitting instructions' tab) show the initial assembly, and also fitting - both are well worth watching. Lighting system: The Eazzy 4 comes with a 13 pin lighting system, including a reversing light and UK compliant fog lights (the fog light is on the right hand side). A 13 pin to 7 pin adapter is included. Tilting: Tilting is easy, and is very well balanced even with a full load. The Eazzy 4 sits quite high on the tow ball, and the tilt function is optimised to prevent the lights from hitting the road surface, while still using the weight of the bikes to help bring the bike platform back to the level again in a controlled way. But this geometry doesn't allow for vertical tailgates to be opened - the only tow bar carriers we know about that are suitable for these vehicles, e.g. VW Transporter T5 and T6, and MPVs such as the Vauxhall Zafira and Ford Galaxy, are the Atera STRADA DL3 (maximum 4 bikes) and the Atera Genio Pro (maximum 3 bikes). 4 bikes - BUZZ RACK Eazzy 4 Reviews
Pete L -
Vehicle type: MPV
The Buzzrack Eazzy 4 is a great piece of kit. I'll be completely up front and say that I have returned the one I bought because even with the tilt facility, the ridiculously vertical tailgate of a Vauxhall Zafira will not open fully with the rack in place. I am hugely disappointed by that because in all other respects I cannot fault the Eazzy 4. I'd rather change the car.... The Eazzy 4 requires minimal assembly out of the box. The lights (2 screws, 4 cable clips) and number plate holder (1 bolt) need to be fitted but that's all. After that it's straight on the car using the standard Buzzrack clamping system. The rack doesn't completely support itself before the clamp is tightened but it's not a difficult job as the fold up sides can be left vertical and out of the way until everything is tight, which it has to be said is an excellent design feature. The wheel and frame straps are easy to tighten with one hand, and the wheel straps in particular are very long - suitable for most wheels out there. Unlike other racks, the central vertical posts are welded in position so once your bikes are in place they don't move. They also give you something solid to fix a D lock to, as a supplement for the cable lock already on the Eazzy. Last point is the tilt mechanism. It may not work for my car, but the locking knob is easily accessible and the rack is well balanced and solid when tilting. All in all, a fantastic product. About our reviews: We test, and often use personally, almost all the products we sell, and we stand behind our comments and recommendations unless customers convince us they need changing. Our Customer Services and Workshop staff also have input into our recommendations. But it's because we've learned a lot over many years that customer feedback is so important. Fresh, first time out opinions are the most useful ones, and in any event we certainly don't have access to the full range of vehicles that our customers have between them. Product feedback from existing customers helps our new customers make choices, and also helps our suppliers with their product development. We e-mail our customers a week or so after their order arrives and invite them to send in a review. Some reviews are suitable for multiple products. Where appropriate we may, for example, use the same review for a number of different roof bar products where the only difference is the length of the roof bar. |

Deciding which bike carriers to buy is not always easy, especially as you may not have had experience of using bike carriers before. We hope that our buying guides provide useful guidance about which bike carrier 'strategy' will be most appropriate for your circumstances, as well as highlighting the best features of particular models. We also have troubleshooting FAQs - for example, some customers struggle at first to fit four bikes onto a tow ball carrier, and wonder whether a different carrier would allow the bikes to be spaced wider apart. (It won't, but we have some good tips which make bike fitting much easier.) Our bike carriers Exchange Scheme covers roof mounting and tow ball mounting bike carriers only. Rear door mounting / strap on carriers are not included, and nor are roof bars. It allows you to exchange within 90 days of invoice date. Most exchanges are for roof mounting upgrades, or are tow ball carriers with very basic tilting systems being exchanged for easy to use sliding / tilting carriers. These are the rules of the bike carriers Exchange Scheme:

Bike carriers with 7 pin plugs Wheel support bike carriers which are supplied with 7 pin plugs usually only include rear lights, brake lights and indicator lights, which is why they are often called ‘3 function lights’. Unusually, Thule bike carriers with 7 pin plugs also include a fog light; this works when plugged into 7 pin electrics, but it does not work when plugged into 13 pin electrics via an adapter. Bike carriers with 13 pin plugs Bike carriers which are supplied with 13 pin plugs include a fog light and reversing light, as well as rear lights, brake lights and indicator lights – which is why they are often called ‘5 function lights’. If these are plugged into 13 pin electrics then all 5 functions will work. If they are plugged into 7 pin electrics via an adapter then the fog light should work, but the reversing light on the bike carrier will not work. Please note These notes assume that your tow bar electrics have been wired correctly! Tow bar wiring in the digital age is much more complicated than it used to be when everything was analogue. Our experience is that if you are having lighting problems, e.g. a fog light does not work in 7 pin tow bar electrics, the problem is much more likely to be caused by the wiring, not by a dud bulb in the bike carrier. |
