Dog Bag
The Dog Bag pet carrier is an exciting and intelligent concept in dog transport, protection and care. A lightweight but super-strong 'pop up' fabric kennel which offers significant advantages over the traditional steel cage.
Dog Bag uses integrated sprung steel loops to provide structure and stability, it packs into a small rucksack - small enough to hang inside on a coat hook, or to keep in the car. Compare this convenience to standard 'collapsible' cages and carriers which at best are about as handy to carry as deck chairs!
Its Heavy Duty Fabric is completely waterproof and scratchproof, and even keeps its easily-folding properties to -25 degrees C!

Four Dog Bag sizes
The Large, Medium and Small Dog Bag pet carriers are usually fixed into the car boot, but the Medium and Small models are also supplied with seat belts for fixing to the rear seat - especially appropriate for saloon car drivers. If the Dog Bag is wider than the rear seat you should consider buying a Foot-well Filler accessory; you'll need to decide whether there is any risk of the dog, in its Dog Bag, sagging into the foot well.
The Extra Small model is really only designed for fitting onto a car seat - special seat belts are provided. If the design of the Small Dog Bag is more suitable for your needs than the Extra Small, then of course there's no reason why you shouldn't use this size instead!
You can clip your Dog Bag pet carrier to the tie down loops in the car boot, or strap it to the car seat using the special seat belts provided. You can also lift the tailgate or open the doors without worrying about the dog escaping - you won't even need a dog guard.
The Extra Small Dog Bag is also particularly suitable for cats especially when used together with the Carry Set accessory.
The Dog Bag Story
Dog Bag was designed by two Italian dog owners, Emanuele Bianchi and Giovanni Bertoli, who wanted a transport system that was safer, kinder, more convenient and more flexible than a metal or plastic crate. So, "thinking outside the box", and taking advice from pet psychologists, they soon realised that it would need to be made of fabric - waterproof, softer and warmer than steel or plastic. The fabric would need to be thick enough to be supportive, and immensely strong. It would stand upright with an integral sprung steel frame, and fold neatly away when not in use. It would have to provide sufficient UV protection - it's almost always sunny in Italy! - as well as masses of ventilation. It would at the same time need to be cosy and comfortable as well as being spacious and airy. There'd be strong fixings to help ensure the in-car safety of both pets and passengers, and to comply with all known existing and impending legislation.
Not only should dogs prefer it on technical grounds, but owners should appreciate the extra functionality and flexibility. It would be light to carry, there'd be boot space left free for other items, no rattling noises, no risk of damage to the car, and dog hair would be contained in the bag - to be shaken out later.
Folded Dog Bags need a stuff sack to prevent them from springing open, so why not make this into a useful accessory? The stuff sack became a rucksack, complete with a range of useful sized pockets for accessories. Owners would use the main rucksack for carrying the food and feeding bowls.
