Why it's important to select the correct vehicle and tyre size
Vehicle
There are a surprising number of vehicles that cannot use traditional snowchains, the types that put chain on the inside of the wheel as well as on the tread. This is usually because there is not enough space between the wheels and the shock absorbers; this can be a problem for ordinary SUVs and 4x4s as well as for high performance cars.
You will find this important information in your car handbook - please check this before using your snowchains! Our database is intended to do the basic work for you but, with so many new vehicles and tyre sizes, it should only ever be treated as a guide.
Tyre size
Please also check your tyre size - if you buy incorrectly-sized chains they will be either too tight or too loose.
Ladder track chains
The good news is that car handbooks usually only refer to "traditional snowchains". Ladder track chains such as the Polaire GRIP and Spikes-Spider range only put chain over the tyre tread, so are not subject to these restrictions. They are also ideal for use on rear wheel drives where there is minimal space between the top of the wheel and the wheel arch.
It's really important to select the correct vehicle, paying attention to the year of the manufacture

BUZZ RACK make great bike racks - they're strong, secure and innovative. So what's the big deal with the BUZZ RACK Spark? Fundamentally it's down to design, safety, quality, and ease of use. Consider the following: - It's supplied almost fully assembled; minimum work is required.
- It's the right shape for storing in the boot when not in use.
- It fits to all tow balls with an easy "first time out only" adjustment system.
- Fitting is simple and, above all, fast; place the carrier on the tow ball and lift the lever, the ergonomically easy thing to do, with nothing to tighten or turn.
- The BUZZ RACK Spark is genuinely easy to tilt, well balanced during the tilting phase. The tilt function is accessed at the front of the carrier so it's easy to get to, unlike many other bike carriers.
- It sits high on the tow ball, well clear of speed bumps and other hazards such as steep ferry ramps.
- The wheel holders, much more robust than we've seen elsewhere, will slide in and out and will accommodate all wheelbases, even very small children's bikes if you turn the wheel holders through 180º.
- The wheel straps are tough, easily adjusted and fit tyres up to 2.8 inches. A longer strap is available separately if you have semi-fat tyres- see below. A fat tyres adapter is also available for wheels up to 4.6".
- Each bike holder has locks, and the carrier also locks to the tow ball with a robust lock.
- Flick up a couple of cam levers and the carrier folds flat for easier storage.
- All parts are replaceable if e.g. someone forgets that a tow bar carrier is fitted and reverses into a wall - which happens!
- Dimensions: 96-113cm wide by 76cm deep (measured from the centre of the tow ball mount to the outside edge of the number plate holder).
- Weight: 20kg.
- The BUZZ RACK Spark comes with a 5 function 13 pin lighting system, with UK compliant fog lights, i.e. the fog light is on the right hand side / offside. A 7 to 13 adapter is also provided, for cars with 7 pin systems.
- The build quality - tube bending, welding, rust proofing, painting, component quality, is exemplary. All tools you might need are provided.
- It's TÜV approved to ISO standard R15264-4, a standard some way tougher than current requirements.
- We also think it looks great!
You'll need a lighting adapter if your vehicle has a standard UK style 7 pin socket - buy this rack from us this season and we'll give you this for free, saving up to £20 at typical prices!Exchange scheme: Tow bar carriers are part of our 90 day exchange scheme - click on the link below for details - so you can order without financial risk. All current tow bar carriers from all the brands we stock are available for exchange, including Pendle and Thule, even if they are no longer part of our standard stock range.
BUZZ RACK is manufactured by King Rack of Taiwan, a specialist bike sector engineering company since 1996. Their factory is state of the art, with much of their production being tube bending, specialist welding and finishing for well known brands.

Delivery FAQs
When will my order arrive?
There are no deliveries on Saturdays, Sundays or Bank Holidays, except for postable items where Royal Mail has a Saturday delivery. Express Delivery orders placed on a Friday (before 1pm) should be delivered on the Monday or Tuesday, Express Delivery orders placed on a Saturday or Sunday should be delivered on the Tuesday or Wednesday. The arrangements for Very Heavy Items are different and are shown above.
What about Next Working Day delivery?
Most Express delivery orders will arrive on the next working day, if the order is placed before the cut-off time (see above). Some will arrive on the second working day if there has been a "split-delivery". So-called “split deliveries” happen when the couriers do not have enough trailer space for everything that should be moved around the UK, so they will load what they can and leave the rest for the next trailer.
Is my delivery day guaranteed?
No retailer or courier company can ever "guarantee" a Next Working Day delivery. As well as split deliveries, all courier companies occasionally have the same transport problems as can happen to everyone else, including snow blocked roads, closed roads, traffic jams, mechanical breakdown, an inability to find the delivery address, or to gain access to it if, for example, it's in a block of flats. We work with some of the best couriers in the business, and overall they provide an outstanding service.
Do I need to be at home?
We are very flexible with our deliveries and will aim to deliver to an address which suits you – this does not need to be your home address. Goods can usually be left without signature - we prefer this with roof boxes. There's a "Special Delivery Instructions" box in the checkout area where we'll ask you to choose a typical instruction and then amend it to suit your particular requirements.

We take the following cards, and also PayPal. Please note that the entry on your card statement will be from "The Roof Box Company".
